NAPLAN online raises members' concerns
IEU has received numerous concerns from members about the current testing of NAPLAN online in schools, including logistical issues, adjustments for students with disabilities, difficulty contacting the NAPLAN help desk, impact on teaching time, additional workload and unreliable internet access. The Union understands that 20-30 Catholic systemic schools and independent schools are currently involved in the testing phase.
IEU remains cautious about moving the NAPLAN assessment online and at a Council meeting on 19 August passed a resolution to instigate a meeting with NSW Minister for Education Rob Stokes to discuss the issue.
