Union wins right to industrial action: video update

IEU Secretary John Quessy has released a video update regarding the progress of the new Enterprise Agreement for Catholic systemic schools. In the video Quessy states that "the Fair Work Commission has granted the Union's application for Protected Action Ballots" and "IEU is currently negotiating the timetable for those ballots with the Australian Electoral Commission." Catholic Employers have used “delaying tactics” throughout the negotiations but have failed to prevent the Union’s application for PABOs. Industrial action is now anticipated to go ahead in Term 4 this year.

IEU calls on each Diocese Director "to finalise any outstanding aspects of the Work Practices Agreements, consent to arbitration as a final way to end disputes and put a proper, enforceable EA to the vote.”
