Socceroo Craig Foster to headline Support Staff Conference

Don’t miss the IEU’s 2024 Support Staff Conference: Making a Difference!

  • Theme: Making a difference
  • When: Friday 13 September
  • Where: University of Technology Sydney Aerial Centre
  • Keynote speaker: Craig Foster AM, former Socceroos captain and human rights activist

With this year’s theme of Making a Difference, who better to deliver the keynote presentation than human rights advocate Craig Foster AM. The former Socceroos captain has become one of Australia’s most respected figures as a Logie-winning broadcaster and human rights activist.

The athlete-turned activist works across a vast range of social programs including refugee rights, homelessness, domestic violence, climate action, gender equality and the right of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Craig will be talking to conference attendees about both his personal and professional journey to becoming a reluctant activist, and he’ll share his thoughts on how to make a difference. He knows how to capture an audience, so this is an event not to be missed!

The key goal for the conference is for participants to come away with practical solutions, skills and knowledge that can be brought back to your workplace. It’s a chance to come together with other support staff in your union.

There will be fascinating workshops and sessions, as well as opportunities for personal development that will prove useful in your professional lives.

The conference will be held at the Aerial Centre at the University of Technology in central Sydney. Watch this space for more details. We look forward to seeing you there!
