Higher union membership results in better pay and conditions.
The IEU has achieved many benefits for staff in the post-secondary sector over many years, such as improved leave, job security and better pay. But for the union to stay strong and effective, we also need strong membership in many colleges. The union is far better placed to push for workplace improvements when we represent a strong, active, and growing IEU membership.
We urge all members to encourage your colleagues to stand together in the IEU. It’s no coincidence that the best outcomes in the sector have been achieved at centres with relatively high union membership. We are always stronger together.
If every member recruits just one more member, then our density doubles, and our industrial muscle strengthens.
