Over the past week, you may have received several updates from your school and the IEU about bargaining for the teachers MEA in independent schools.
The fact is, the union is not holding up the making of a new MEA.

Here is a video message from IEUA NSW/ACT Branch Secretary Carol Matthews about the current state of play in bargaining, particularly in relation to the AIS’s most recent pay offer for NSW.
Get involved:
- Sign our petition here and say ‘yes’ to a better deal.
- Encourage your colleagues who are not members to join the IEU.
Your employer cannot direct or pressure you about your decision to sign our petition. You have this right by law.
The union will collate this petition and names will only be provided to the FWC, not your employer. Your Organiser will be in contact with members at your school shortly to check how you are going and provide you with any assistance you may need.
